Spring Executive Director Transition Update

This is an important time in The Doorway’s history as we seek a new leader to build on the impactful legacy of Marilyn Dyck and to ensure The Doorway’s ongoing contribution to our community.

In the early weeks of 2020 Impact8 facilitated staff, volunteers and Board members through a survey. Consistent answers regarding competencies and qualifications helped direct the creation of our Executive Director candidate profile and job posting. 

We posted the Executive Director job beginning of March just before the pandemic outbreak. The final day for candidates to apply was April 17.  We received an outstanding amount of excellent applicants.

Most recently we have been conducting phone screenings and video meetings to narrow down the top candidates. We are being flexible with our timelines as it is very important to us that we meet the top candidates in person. We will constantly assess the current pandemic impacts/guidelines to determine appropriate steps over the next 1-2 months.

Regardless of circumstance we are encouraged by the level of interest and impressed with the caliber of applicants. We are confident in finding a new leader to build on a legacy.
