Empathy Week: Living Documents
June 1, 2019 - June 7, 2019
The Doorway is participating in ‘Empathy Week’ hosted by Humainologie Jun 1st to Jun 7th 2019.
Our installation Living Documents creates a brief encounter with those who are living, or have lived, on the periphery. Each installation disrupts a space in a constructive manner and contains a takeaway reflection for the public. We are looking forward to hosting an event centered around teaching, by sharing young people’s writing from our 30 year archives!
Our Empathy Week installations with be open to the public June 1st – 7th at Monogram Coffee (Altadore and Brittania). All day from 7am to 9pm.
Monogram Coffee (Altadore), 4814 – 16 Street SW⠀
Monogram Coffee (Brittania), 800 – 49 Avenue SW⠀
An additional installation will be located at Analog Coffee June 1st – 7th from 6:30am to 10pm.
Analog Coffee, 740 17 Ave SW
Coordinate your work meetings, dates, friend/family outings etc. to bring as many people to our installations as possible! We appreciate you taking the time to support us and thank you for learning from young people! We also need to thank Monogram and Analog for donating their spaces to us next week. Appreciating everyone for Making Change Possible.
Check out The Empathy Week Program for a full list of events and descriptions including Living Documents (Pg.3). We are really looking forward to a number of events including the Comedy Lab this Saturday June 1. We had the privilege of seeing a short sneak peak last month and have been reflecting about integrity ever since.
